Manama: Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, the Speaker of the Council of Representatives, today met with cattle merchants and breeders. Speaker Al Musallam underscored the commitment of the legislative and executive authorities to develop effective cooperation to serve the Kingdom and citizens, following the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and with the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. The Speaker said that achieving food security required extensive efforts to promote growth and innovation in the food and agricultural sectors and to encourage the private sector to increase its contribution to food security projects. He added that these efforts must focus on the sustainability of food supply for families and supporting workers in this sector. Source: Bahrain News Agency
