Amman: Qatar's national table tennis team claimed 19 medals in 2021 Arab Table Tennis Championships concluded in Amman Jordan on Monday to take the second place in the overall standings of the event.
Qatar’s Ahmed Khaleel Al Mohannadi and Mohamed Abdulwahab cruised to victory in the men’s doubles competition on Monday.
Al Mohannadi and Abdulwahab ousted Bahrain’s Muhammad Saleh and Elias Eliasi 15-13, 11-6, 11-3 in the final in Amman, Jordan.
Qatari paddlers returned with a host of medals in the age group categories on the day.
The under-13 duo of Sultan Al Kuwari and Ahmed Eid settled for a silver, going down to their Tunisian opponents in the final. In the under-11 category, Qatar’s Abdulaziz Al Abdullah and Mohammed Al Sulaiti also settled for silver.
The under-19 pair of Ahmed Jabbar and Abdullah Abdul Wahab also finished with a silver on the day.
Qatar’s bronze medals came in the under-15 categories. Khalid Al Yafei and Ruwad Al Nasser placed third in the boys event while Maryam Ali and Shawq Al Abdullah finished third in the girls competition.
