The Minister of Justice, Khaled Shawani, received today, Sunday, in his official office, the Italian Ambassador to Baghdad, Maurizio Cricanti, and his accompanying delegation.
According to a statement by the Ministry of Justice, the two sides discussed: completing the preparation of draft legal and judicial agreements and extraditing convicts between the Republic of Iraq and Italy.
Shawani stressed the Iraqi government's determination to settle legal files and foreign lawsuits in Italy in accordance with the directives of the Prime Minister and in the interest of both countries.
For his part, the Italian Ambassador appreciated the efforts made by the government and the Ministry of Justice in preparing draft legal agreements between the two sides, stressing his country’s desire to cooperate with the Iraqi government in various fields.
