Ramallah - Ma'an - The Palestinian National Library and the Royal Jordanian Hashemite Documentation Center signed a cooperation protocol on Monday in the Jordanian capital, Amman. The agreement was signed by the Director of the Palestinian National Library, Issa Qaraqe, and His Excellency Dr. Muhannad Al-Mubaideen, Director General of the Royal Jordanian Hashemite Documentation Center, in the presence of his deputy, Reham Al-Masri, and the Director of the Department of Manuscripts Conservation and Restoration, Mr. Suleiman Al-Shaqirat. The National Library stressed that this cooperation stems from the close historical ties that bind the Jordanian and Palestinian peoples, and their awareness of the importance of the role of the National Library in collecting intellectual and cultural heritage and making it available to Jordanian and Palestinian citizens, and laying solid foundations that ensure the continuation of raising the level of cooperation for the benefit of the brotherly Jordanian and Palestinian peo ples. The library explained that the two parties agreed to work on developing cooperation in the field of national libraries, archives, manuscripts, and their maintenance and restoration, within the framework of the programs, curricula, and systems in force and applied in each of them. The cooperation includes: exchanging experts with experience and specialization in the field of training and empowering workers, exchanging books, studies, periodicals, magazines, documents, etc., as well as exchanging specialized information on all strategic and Arab issues in a way that serves the supreme interests of the two peoples and their cultural, heritage, and civilizational legacy, in addition to supporting the joint organization of seminars, conferences, and meetings related to the subject of this protocol.
