A statement by the Presidency of the Republic stated that "the President of the Republic received, today, Wednesday, in Baghdad, Minister of Environment Nizar Amedi, and during the meeting, Iraq's participation in the upcoming United Nations Climate Conference (COP29) scheduled to be held in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, was discussed." According to the statement, the importance of active participation in the conference was emphasized in order to confront climate change and enhance joint cooperation with countries, as the President of the Republic will head the delegation participating in the conference.
