The Turkish ministry of defense announced Saturday the elimination of 19 militants from the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in northern Iraq and Syria. In a statement, the Ministry said that the Turkish army eliminated 15 PKK militants in the Asos and Hakurk regions of northern Iraq, whereas four others were eliminated in the Euphrates Shield and Peace Spring zones in northern Syria. Last week, the Ministry had announced that its forces were able to eliminate 1,427 PKK members since the beginning of 2024, including 681 in northern Iraq, and the rest in northern Syria.
