The Iraqi Turkmen Front confirmed that the threats targeting the supreme religious authority are a serious violation of Iraq's sovereignty and unity.
The head of the front, Hassan Toran, said in a statement: "The supreme religious authority was and still is the safety valve of Iraq in the darkest circumstances, and His Eminence Sayyid Ali al-Sistani is a symbol of peace and stability, and the voice of wisdom and moderation that protected Iraq from sedition and conflicts, and attempts to harm him will not undermine his position in the hearts of Iraqis, but will increase the cohesion of the people around their national identity and defending Iraq's sovereignty against anyone who tries to destabilize it."
He added: "We support the firm and honorable position of the Iraqi government in defending national symbols and constants, and its policy of supporting the issues of the nation and supporting the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples."
