Washington: The US administration affirmed its efforts to involve other countries in forming an international coalition to restore freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
According to Qatar News Agency, a cable from the United States Department of State revealed that it instructed US diplomats worldwide to invite other countries to join a new international coalition. This coalition would enable vessels to sail through the strait by sharing information, coordinating diplomatically, and assisting in enforcing sanctions.
The State Department emphasized that the move is purely defensive, aiming to counter Iranian efforts to control transit through the strait.
