The Federal Police forces arrested 17 suspects under various legal articles and seized unlicensed weapons and ammunition during search operations in Baghdad and Babylon. The Ministry of Interior stated in a statement, "The security efforts of the Federal Police's mechanized division, with the support of the intelligence, resulted in the arrest of 17 suspects on legal charges ranging from (drugs, possession of unlicensed weapons, quarreling, threatening, fraud, and violating residency conditions) in the areas of (Al-Bayaa, Al-Amel neighborhood, Suwaib) in Baghdad, and (Iskandariya, Umm Al-Haya) in Babylon Governorate." It added, "The Federal Police forces carried out search operations for unlicensed weapons in the areas of (Al-Fadhiliya, Al-Bu Aithah, Asia neighborhood, Al-Rashidiya) in Baghdad, which resulted in the seizure of (11 rifles of various types, 9 pistols, 165 bullets, other materials), and the suspects were referred with the seized items to the competent authorities."
