Doha: A small plane carrying oil workers crashed in Unity State, South Sudan, on Wednesday, killing 20 people. South Sudanese media reported that the plane crashed at the Unity Oil Field Airport while heading to the capital, Juba.
According to Qatar News Agency, authorities have opened an investigation into the circumstances of the accident. Several plane crashes have occurred in South Sudan. In September 2018, 19 people were killed when a small plane carrying passengers from Juba to Yirol city crashed. In 2015, dozens were killed when a plane crashed after taking off from the capital’s airport.
