The Turkish Security Authorities arrested 33 foreigners on suspicion of belonging to the terrorist organization "ISIS" during two security operations in the states of Istanbul and Mersin.
The Turkish security authorities stated in a media circular today that these security operations come within the framework of the efforts of the Turkish Authorities to uncover the activities of the terrorist organization and arrest its members throughout the country.
In its circular, it indicated that the Anti-terrorism teams in Istanbul carried out a security operation that included 3 regions, and resulted in the arrest of 28 foreigners, and a number of weapons were seized in their possession, in addition to sums of hard currency.
In the state of Mersin, in the south of the country, Anti-terrorism teams carried out this Friday morning a security operation during which they managed to arrest five foreigners without mentioning their nationalities.
It indicated that these foreigners are accused of practicing armed action in favor of the terrorist organization and communicating with its elements outside Turkey.
