An earthquake measuring 4.9 magnitude on the Richter scale hit Antofagasta region in northern Chile on Monday. The epicenter of the earthquake occurred 77 km from Ollague village, at a depth of 106.3 km, the U.S Geological Survey (USGS) reported. There have been no reports of casualties or material damage due to the earthquake so far. In 2010, a massive 8.8-magnitude earthquake struck central Chile, killing at least 500 people and triggering a tsunami.
