An earthquake measuring 5.0 magnitude on the Richter scale struck on Tuesday Maluku Province in Indonesia. The epicenter of the earthquake occurred 249 km from Tanimbar Islands, at a depth of 10 km, the Indonesian Agency for Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics (BMKG) said. There have been no reports of casualties or material damage due to the earthquake so far. On Monday, a 5.6-magnitude earthquake hit Labuha town in Indonesia's Maluku province without causing any human or material losses. Indonesia is regularly exposed to earthquakes, as it is located on the Pacific belt known as the Ring of Fire, where many tectonic plates meet and cause frequent volcanic and seismic activity.
