A 5.7-magnitude earthquake jolted Saturday the Tonga Islands in the South Pacific Ocean.
In a statement, the German Research Centre for Geosciences said that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 252 km.
No immediate reports of casualties or material losses due to the earthquake and no tsunami warnings were issued.
On Sunday, a 5.8-magnitude earthquake struck Neiafu, the largest city in the Tonga Islands, at a depth of 10 kilometers.
Located in northwest New Zealand and Australia, Tonga is an archipelago of 176 scattered islands in the South Pacific Ocean, with only 52 inhabited.
