7 Militants Killed in Exchange of Fire in Northwestern Pakistan

The Pakistani army announced that seven militants were killed and six others were wounded during an exchange of fire in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, in northwest Pakistan.

An army statement said that seven militants were killed and six others were seriously injured by security forces in an exchange of fire in the Chitral district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The security operation took place days after the killing of at least 12 militants and four Pakistani soldiers in an attack on two military posts near the Pakistani-Afghan border in Chitral district.

The Pakistani army has been waging an open war against armed groups in various parts of the country for several years.
