9 Killed in Mine Explosion in Colombia

Colombia: Colombia's National Mining Agency announced that nine miners were killed in an explosion at a mine in the country's central region, caused by a gas buildup.

According to Qatar News Agency, the agency stated that rescue teams managed to save six other miners who were taken to the hospital for treatment, while nine others died in the incident.

The explosion occurred approximately 70 kilometers east of the capital, Bogota, in the Cundinamarca Department.

Colombia experiences frequent accidents in its mining sector, particularly due to poor ventilation in tunnels, especially in illegal mines.
