90,000 Worshippers Pray Isha, Taraweeh at Al-Aqsa Mosque Amid Restrictions

Jerusalem: Amid the stringent military measures imposed by the Israeli occupation authorities to restrict access to Al-Aqsa Mosque, 90,000 worshippers prayed Isha and Taraweeh on the 15th day of the holy month of Ramadan at the mosque, according to the Islamic Waqf Department in Jerusalem.

According to Qatar News Agency, the department highlighted that most of the worshippers were either Jerusalemites or from within the territories of 1948. Local sources reported that the Israeli occupation forces obstructed the worshippers from reaching the mosque through the Damascus and Lion Gates and engaged in vetting their identities. This resulted in the arrest of several young people who were subsequently prevented from entering the mosque.

The Israeli occupation authorities deny thousands of Palestinians access to Jerusalem to pray at the mosque.
