A high-level tripartite security meeting was held in the city of Sulaymaniyah today, Saturday, between Kurdistan Peshmerga forces, the Iraqi army, and the international coalition forces to combat ISIS. According to an official statement, 'The meeting was attended by the Commander-in-Chief of the 70th Peshmerga Forces of Kurdistan, Major General Omar Saleh Hassan, the Director-General of the Counter-Terrorism Service, Wahhab Halabji, the Deputy Commander of the Commando Command, Diyar Omar, the Director of the Operations Directorate in the Security Service, Sarkhil Kamal, and the Operations Assistant of the 70th Forces in the Peshmerga Forces, Major General Zanyar Hussein Zubair and a high-level delegation from the Iraqi army headed by Major General Ali Mashjil al-Maliki, commander of operations east of Salah al-Din, and in the presence of international coalition forces. The meeting stressed, according to the statement, 'the development of coordination and joint cooperation between the Peshmerga and the army in order to preserve the security and stability of the region from the threats of ISIS, and the importance of implementing joint security operations between the two sides to pursue the remnants of terrorism, especially in the areas of the security vacuum located between the two forces.' The statement confirmed that "the meeting discussed, in another aspect, the importance of carrying out arrest operations against those whom judicial arrest warrants were issued against them, and the two sides reviewed their plans for maintaining security before in-depth discussions were held about the security observations recorded by the parties to the expanded tripartite security meeting.
