Baghdad, The Chief of Staff of the Army, General Abdul Amir Rashid Yarallah, visited today, Tuesday, the area of terrorist exposure that the Salah al-Din Operations Sector witnessed yesterday, Monday, in which a number of martyrs and wounded from the army were killed. A statement by the Ministry of Defense stated, 'The Operations Assistant, the Director of Military Intelligence, and the Joint Operations Representative accompanied the Army Chief of Staff, and were received by the Commander of Salah al-Din Operations and the Commander of Samarra Operations (Federal Police), to be informed of the latest security developments within the sector of responsibility.' Immediately upon his arrival, the Army Chief of Staff inspected the terrorist exposure area within the sector of the 2nd Regiment of the 93rd Infantry Brigade in the 21st Infantry Division in Al-Aitha area, where he was received by the division commander and the brigade commander. The Army Chief of Staff also listened to "a detailed briefing on the ci rcumstances of the cowardly terrorist incident, the areas where terrorist incubators are located, and plans to eliminate them," praising the steadfastness of the brave fighters in the area of responsibility, directing the commanders to secure the area and confront challenges by strengthening repellent lines and observation points, constantly updating plans, and enhancing the level of combat readiness." Five army forces, including a regiment commander with the rank of colonel, were martyred and five army members were injured during their response to an attack by ISIS terrorists in the village of Mubarak Al-Farhan, located between Diyala and Salah al-Din governorates.
