Baghdad - The Iraqi Bar Association announced today, Thursday, the assassination of a lawyer inside his office in an armed attack in the Doura area, south of the capital, Baghdad.
A statement by the Bar Association stated, “Lawyer Adnan Al-Nuaimi was assassinated this evening, as a group that has not yet been identified stormed the lawyer’s office, located in the Al-Doura area in Baghdad Governorate. Camera images showed the faces of the perpetrators, while a mobile phone belonging to the perpetrators was recovered, which fell during the attack operation".
The statement confirmed that “the head of the Bar Association, Ahlam Al-Lami, is following up on the details of the incident with the security forces, and the head of the Doura Lawyers’ Chamber went to the police station to complete the legal procedures and follow up the case, in an effort to quickly identify the perpetrators and arrest them, as quickly as possible, so that they receive their just punishment.”
The Bar Association promised to “announce other details as soon as we obtain accurate information.”
