A number of prostitution, drug and organized crime networks arrested in Bataween operation

Interior Ministry spokesman, Brigadier General Miqdad Miri, announced that during Al-Bataween security operation, which was launched this morning, a number of prostitution, drug and organized crime networks, human trafficking gangs, and industrial fraud factories were arrested. Meri said in a press conference that "the operation will continue for several days, and it is the first of its kind in years," pointing out that "there will be similar operations in other regions." He pointed out that 'the most prominent people in Al-Bataween area are of Arab nationalities and Asian foreigners.' The Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, stressed the necessity of implementing the security plan in Al-Bataween area in the capital, Baghdad, accurately, stressing the importance of the success of this operation, which aims to arrest wanted persons and violators.
