The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that a Russian Su-30 fighter intercepted an American reconnaissance plane over the Black Sea.
The ministry stated, in a statement on Saturday, that an air target was detected approaching Russia's borders, and to prevent violating the country's borders, a Russian Su-30 fighter flew, which identified the target as a US Air Force reconnaissance plane.
The statement confirmed that the American reconnaissance plane turned back when the Russian fighter approached it, which prevented any violation of the country's borders, and returned to its base safely.
The Russian Defense stressed that its fighter flew in strict accordance with international rules for the use of airspace over neutral waters, in compliance with security measures.
