Detachments of the Safwan district police station, south of Basra, arrested a serious suspect of armed robbery and kidnapping, and killed the owner of an exchange shop in the district in a mysterious crime.

The Basra police media stated, "The arrest process took place after information was available about the whereabouts of the accused immediately, and after investigation and information gathering, efforts resulted in reaching him, as an elaborate ambush was set up and he was arrested."

It added, "they wrote down the statements of the accused, and he confessed to committing the crime of armed robbery of a money exchange shop and killing its owner in 2018, and kidnapping crimes in Safwan. Evidence was made and he confessed in the first instance and judicially. Legal measures were taken against him and he was referred to the judiciary."/ End
