Authorities said that a typhoon killed two people and injured at least 92 others on Hainan Island in southern China, where heavy rains and winds caused power outages to more than 800,000 homes. Typhoon "Yagi" is currently heading to northern Vietnam via the Gulf of Tonkin on Saturday, where Vietnamese authorities described it as "one of the strongest typhoons in the region over the past decade." The typhoon hit Wenchang City in Hainan on Friday afternoon, with wind speeds reaching about 245 kilometers per hour (152 miles per hour) near its center.
