Abu Holi meets with GIZ Regional Program Director to discuss ‘Enhancing the Impact of Palestinian Refugees on Their Living Conditions’

Ramallah - Ma'an - Member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization and Head of the Department of Refugee Affairs, Ahmad Abu Holi, received today in his office Ms. Claudia Ross, Director of the Regional Program "Enhancing the Impact of Palestinian Refugees on their Living Conditions - PART II", which is funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development in Germany and implemented by GIZ. During the meeting, Dr. Abu Houli reviewed the latest political developments and major challenges facing UNRWA's work in light of the ongoing Israeli measures, in addition to the catastrophic humanitarian conditions suffered by Palestinian refugees in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including Jerusalem, as a result of the Israeli aggression. He also reviewed the conditions of Palestinians who were forced to move to the Arab Republic of Egypt due to the escalation in Gaza, and ways to provide support to them. The meeting touched on bilateral cooperation between the Department of Refugee Affairs and the regional programme 'Enhancing the Impact of Palestinian Refugees on their Living Conditions - PART II' and ways to develop technical cooperation locally and regionally within the framework of joint work with the bodies specialised in the refugee file in the host countries. The meeting was attended from the Refugee Affairs Department by Anwar Hamam, Deputy Director of the Refugee Affairs Department, international relations expert Mai Odeh, Director of the Central Camps Nancy Al Hindi, Director of the Office of the Head of the Department Abdul Karim Al Ajrami, and from GIZ Mr. Sami Marra.
