Ramallah Together - After Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's incitement against the Fatah movement and the Palestinian Authority yesterday, the settlers began implementing his ideas on the road to Ramallah. Tonight, settlers hung pictures of President Mahmoud Abbas in the bypass streets and entrances to the settlements with a phrase written in Hebrew on them (Reshef = Hamas), meaning the Palestinian Authority is like the Hamas movement. This comes after Netanyahu's decision yesterday to target the Palestinian Authority in response to its steps at the United Nations and its recent acquisition of state powers. He also rejected an international proposal to return the authority to administer the Gaza Strip. He added, "I will not replace Hamastan with Fatehistan." Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his ministers also decided to target the Palestinian Authority and approved a committee that will present an additional sanctions package that will be announced later. Israel continues to withhold clearance funds as part of the continuing military and financial blockade imposed on the West Bank since the beginning of the war on Gaza on October 7th. The Palestinian Authority was suffering from a financial crisis before the war on Gaza, but it has worsened further since the war, as it pays half the salary of government employees. Also, Israel, within the framework of the financial blockade on the West Bank, has placed 200,000 Palestinian workers who were working inside the Green Line since the Hamas attack in October, causing the collapse of the economic situation.
