National Security Advisor Qasim Al-Araji met in Brussels today with the Deputy Secretary-General of the European External Action Service for Political Affairs Enrique Mora. The meeting, according to a statement by the National Security Chancellery, discussed enhancing cooperation and continuing the partnership between Iraq and the European Union, especially in the areas of combating terrorism and drugs and exchanging expertise and information, as well as helping to end the presence of the Syrian Al-Hol camp, due to the danger it poses to the region and the world. The two sides discussed the tragic conditions and the destruction and starvation taking place in the Gaza Strip and the importance of working to reduce escalation in the region due to its repercussions that may exacerbate crises in the Middle East. The two sides also stressed the importance of the pivotal role played by Iraq in working to stabilize the region and stop the escalation. Source: National Iraqi News Agency
