Member of the House of Representatives Sheikh Wasfi Al-Asi announced the formation of an upcoming Alliance that brings together the forces that formed the local government in Kirkuk. He said in a statement that the Governor of Kirkuk is not Kurdish, but rather belongs to the Kirkuk National Alliance, which will soon be formed for the forces that formed the Kirkuk government (including the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, the Arabism and Leadership Alliance, Progress, and Turkmen parties). He explained that some cannot stir up "sedition" in Kirkuk just because he "lost, stressing that we invited everyone to attend the Rashid Hotel session, but they refused and insisted on the governor or the presidency of the council.
