The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Muhammad Al-Halbousi, announced today, Sunday, that the Integrity Commission law will reach the House of Representatives soon.
The media office of the Speaker of the House of Representatives said in a statement, “Today, Al-Halbousi chaired a meeting attended by the Chairman of the Integrity Commission, the advanced staff of the Commission, and members of the Parliamentary Integrity Committee.”
It added, "During the meeting, the Integrity Commission's work mechanism was discussed, and the progress of its work and its latest activities was reviewed, and ways to overcome obstacles that contribute to strengthening its oversight role, and coordination between the Parliamentary Integrity Committee and the Commission, in addition to a number of files discussed at the meeting that need follow-up by the Commission."
The statement indicated that "the meeting discussed the importance of proceeding with the necessary amendments to the effective Integrity Commission law, which will soon reach the House of Representatives, which will support anti-corruption measures, support the work of the Commission, activate its tools, and increase its capabilities in carrying out the tasks entrusted to it."
