HE Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulwahed Al Hammadi, said that the State of Qatar adopts the draft resolution of the General Assembly of the United Nations Organization for the Protection of Education. In this regard, Al Hammadi praised the role of HH Sheikha Mozah bint Nasser Al Kabeer in upholding the value and status of education as a human right, and the keenness of her Highness to provide protection for it, and to ensure that every child in the world gets this right, whatever the circumstances and environment in which he lives.
In his speech on the second edition of the International Day to Protect Education from Attack, Minister Al-Hammadi said, "We celebrate together the International Day to Protect Education from Attack in its second edition as a clear message to the whole world about the importance of safeguarding educational institutions and schools as places of safety and protection for students and educators".
His Excellency also touched on the attacks that the world is witnessing against children and educational institutions in Yemen, Syria, Palestine, Afghanistan and other conflict areas in the world, noting that this situation requires governments and stakeholders to bear the primary responsibility to provide protection and ensure quality and equitable education for all children at all levels.
A virtual celebration of the "International Day for the Protection of Education from Attacks" was organized by the Qatari National Commission for Education, Culture and Science, in partnership with the Education Above All Foundation, the UNESCO Regional Office in Doha, UNICEF and the Qatar Development Fund.
