Al Janoub Stadium, which is one of the eight stadiums built for FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, has been awarded a gold standard Global Sustainability Assessment System (GSAS) certification for operational performance, in appreciation of the stadium's compliance with sustainability standards in operational performance.
The awarding ceremony was attended by representatives from the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC), FIFA, Gulf Organisation for Research and Development (GORD) and Mosanada Facilities Management Services Company.
During the awarding ceremony, Engineer Ghanim Al Kuwari, SC Deputy Director General of Technical Services, said that SC is keen to develop the skills and potentials and upgrade the level of processes and resources in the facility management and construction sector in Qatar to ensure that the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 stadiums will meet all aspects of sustainability.
