Al-Maliki confirms Iraq’s keenness to deliver humanitarian aid to Lebanon

Head of the State of Law Coalition, Nouri al-Maliki, stressed Iraq's keenness to deliver humanitarian aid to Lebanon. The State of Law Coalition stated in a statement: "Al-Maliki met in his office today with the new Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to Iraq, Maher Salem Al-Tarawneh." At the beginning of the meeting, Al-Maliki welcomed Ambassador Al-Tarawneh, wishing him success in his new mission as his country's ambassador to Baghdad, while Ambassador Al-Tarawneh conveyed the greetings of King Abdullah II to the head of the State of Law Coalition. Al-Maliki and Al-Tarawneh discussed regional and international developments and the Zionist aggression on Lebanon and Palestine. The head of the State of Law Coalition stressed: "Iraq has close relations with brotherly Jordan in various fields," calling for strengthening and developing them to serve the interests of the two brotherly peoples, stressing Iraq's adherence to its positions in support of the oppressed peoples of Palestine and Lebanon, ho lding the international community responsible for the heinous crimes committed by the usurping Zionist entity against the two brotherly peoples. He pointed to the importance of the role of Arab political forces and the Arab and Muslim popular position in confronting Zionist arrogance, calling on governments to support the steadfastness of the resistance forces in Palestine, Lebanon, Yemen, Iraq and Iran. Al-Maliki stressed Iraq's keenness to deliver humanitarian aid to Lebanon in light of the difficult circumstances suffered by the brotherly Lebanese people. For his part, the Jordanian ambassador stressed the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan's keenness to enhance cooperation with Iraq in various fields, reflecting the depth of historical ties between the two countries. He expressed his appreciation for Iraq's efforts in supporting Arab issues, especially in light of the challenges facing the region, stressing Jordan's readiness to enhance joint coordination in a way that serves mutual interests and contributes to achieving regional stability.
