First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, received at his residence today, Sunday, the delegation of the Saudi Shura Council, headed by Ibrahim bin Muhammad Al-Qannas, and in the presence of the head of the Iraqi-Saudi Parliamentary Friendship Committee, Sheikh Shaalan Al-Karim, and the MPs Hussein Arab, Amer Al-Faez, and Ambassador of the Kingdom of Iraq, Abdulaziz Al-Shammari.
Al-Mandalawi stressed, according to a statement by his office, the depth of the relationship between the two countries and the two brotherly peoples, and the need to strengthen it at all levels, especially in the aspects of energy, economy, investment, security, agriculture and others, in addition to increasing the number of Iraqi pilgrims.
The First Deputy called for benefiting from the brotherly relations between the two countries to exchange experiences at the legislative level, activate the role of joint friendship committees, and the importance of coordinating parliamentary positions in international and regional forums on issues of common concern, and working to achieve the interests of the two brotherly peoples.
