Acting Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, received today, Saturday, the Permanent Representative of Iraq to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), Asaad Turki Sawari. During the meeting, Al-Mandalawi stressed, according to a statement from his office, the importance of cooperating with the relevant authorities to introduce Iraqi culture and heritage, and to prepare a comprehensive list of all Islamic monuments, monuments and shrines in the country with the aim of highlighting them in UNESCO and before the international community, in a way that is commensurate with the country's cultural status, and to strive diligently to include many of them on the World Human Heritage List. The Acting Speaker of the House of Representatives expressed the keenness of the legislative authority to provide the necessary support for the success of the mission in strengthening Iraq's international status in UNESCO, as well as continuous coordination with the rel evant parliamentary committees in a way that contributes to revitalizing the specific cultural programs managed by the Iraqi mission.
