Al-Quds University begins the reception ceremony for its new students for the year 2024/2025

Jerusalem - Ma'an - Al-Quds University opened the reception ceremony for its new students for the academic year 2024/2025, which is held over two consecutive days for the university's various faculties in the presence of its president, Prof. Imad Abu Kishk, and a group of his deputies, the deans of the faculties and their academic and administrative staff, and Student Affairs represented by its dean and its various units. The reception on the first day included students of human medicine, dentistry, and pharmacy, as well as students of the preparatory track, in segments during which they learned about their colleges, their administrative staff, their most prominent activities, their student and research bodies, and the many academic and extracurricular opportunities that they offer, in addition to the Deanship of Student Affairs. The President of Al-Quds University, Prof. Abu Kishk, welcomed the new students to their distinguished faculties, starting with the Faculty of Human Medicine, which achieves globa l excellence in the quality of education and success rates in Israeli and international licensing exams. Its graduates also hold high-ranking positions in the global and health sectors, and a large percentage of them are enrolled in postgraduate studies in the most prestigious universities. He praised the advanced level of the Faculties of Dentistry and Pharmacy, the excellence of their academic staff, and the students' extracurricular initiatives in bringing global models of innovation and creativity. Prof. Abu Kishk noted the university's initiative to embrace Gaza students within a special track that supports them to continue their educational journey despite the circumstances. He pointed to the significant student contribution to Al-Quds University's research output, reaching 40%, stressing the importance of scientific research and student participation in the student's academic and professional future, and the university's efforts to develop performance in these areas, as is clearly evident in the resul ts of the QS World Ranking, which the university leads at the Palestinian level, in order to advance the academic and university experience in general. In his speech to the preparatory track students from inside Palestine, Prof. Abu Kishk expressed his pride in the inclusion of this distinguished group and his aspiration for their academic, scientific and practical achievements, saying that raising the standards of education comes in an effort to harmonize with international standards to advance students and qualify them to be competitive on a global level. In turn, the deans of the faculties gave their advice and guidance to the new students. The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Hani Abdeen, pointed out the importance of student participation and communication to exchange ideas and experiences, while the Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Abu Younis, stressed the importance of participating in scientific research clubs and exchange and training programs that the college offers and see ks to expand, referring to the first Triple Way initiative in the region to train students and qualify them to work and specialize in Germany. The Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Amr, noted the college's distinction in modern facilities and developed curriculum in partnership with international experts to suit the international labor market, as well as opportunities for exchange, scientific research, global publishing, and the excellence of graduates at the local and international levels. The Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Mazen Al-Khatib, provided an introduction to the Deanship's units and representatives, and the most important services and opportunities it provides to assist and empower students on the cultural, creative, psychological and social levels, and to stimulate their creativity in various fields. For his part, the coordinator of the preparatory track, Dr. Murad Ibrahim, provided an introduction to the track, its beginnings and developments, and introduced its coordinators in th e colleges. He stressed the continuous follow-up of the students' results and progress, noting the importance of participating in the opportunities provided by the Deanship of Student Affairs and the programs and initiatives followed up to benefit from them at all levels. Students reviewed their experiences in work and student participation, including Dana Shawer, a member of the World Medical Federation, Yaman Al-Aisa, in her experience in the PALiMUN 2023 team, and Zain Rahhal, a student from the Dental Federation and the Research Club.
