The leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada Al-Sadr, called for an official holiday by the Iraqi Parliament for Eid Al-Ghadir. Al-Sadr said in his speech, 'If Parliament votes on this, we are grateful, and if they do not vote, let them face Muhammad and Ali as an opponent.'
