The Secretary-General of Ajial Gathering, MP Muhammad Saadoun al-Sayhoud, said that the Ashura Revolution established the principles of freedom, brotherhood, and unity among all components and sects of Iraqi society. Al-Sayhoud said in a press statement today that: Iraqi society today has mixed within its folds all meanings of affection, brotherhood, peace, and rejection of injustice and dictatorship, as the days of Ashura embodied unity in expressing sadness and sorrow for the affliction of our master and lord, Abu Abdullah Al-Hussein, peace be upon him, and his pure family, as we see today communication and cohesion between all the components and sects that console each other to express the state of grief for the great affliction.' He added: The image of brotherhood, unity and understanding is a realistic extension of what Iraqi society is currently experiencing and has overcome all the circumstances that wanted to undermine its unity. However, the awareness of the masses and their keenness to build Iraq and support and assist its service government aborted all malicious wills, and this is what we see today in Ashura ceremonies, as there is the Shiite Muslim, the Sunni, the Christian, the Sabian, the Kurd, and the Arab all console each other and share their condolences to express the unity of class and position.
