Al Shamal: Al Shamal Club has announced that player Mahdi Salem successfully underwent surgery at Aspetar Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Hospital. The club confirmed in a statement today that Salem will be out of action for two to three months, during which he will undergo treatment and rehabilitation before returning to the squad.

According to Qatar News Agency, Mahdi Salem joined Al Shamal on loan from Al Sadd at the start of the 2023-2024 season and has delivered impressive performances for the team. He has also previously represented various national teams, including the senior side.

Al Shamal recently claimed a commanding 4-0 victory over Umm Salal in the Ooredoo Stars League, moving up to fifth place in the standings with 19 points. The team is now gearing up for their 14th-round match in the Ooredoo Stars League against Qatar SC, scheduled for Thursday at Suhaim Bin Hamad Stadium.
