Al-Shammari Discusses With The NATO Commander In Iraq The Training Of Iraqi Security Services And The Exchange Of Experiences

The Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, discussed with the NATO Commander in Iraq, Lieutenant General Jose Antonio Aguero, today, Saturday, the training of Iraqi forces and the exchange of experiences.

The Ministry of the Interior stated, in a statement, that “Interior Minister Abdul Amir al-Shammari met, today, with the NATO Commander in Iraq, Lieutenant General Jose Antonio Aguero, and the temporary Chargé d’Affairs of the Embassy of Austria to Iraq, Andrea Nasi, separately, in the presence of the Minister’s advisor and Commander of the Federal Police Forces and a number of officers, and discussed with him a number of topics of mutual interest, foremost of which is strengthening joint coordination.”

It added, "Cooperation was discussed in the areas of training for the Iraqi security services, exchanging practical experiences and developing their capabilities."

For his part, the NATO Commander extended his thanks and appreciation to the Minister for his great interest in developing bilateral relations and strengthening cooperation.

Al-Shammari also received the temporary Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Austria to Iraq, "Andrea Nasi,"

The Chargé d'Affaires praised "the great efforts made by the Ministry of Interior to enhance security and stability."
