Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani affirmed the government's support for the efforts of the Electoral Commission to conduct the electoral process in the Kurdistan Region. A statement from the Prime Minister's Office stated: "Al-Sudani received today, Saturday, the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Independent High Electoral Commission, Omar Ahmed Mohammed, and members of its council. The meeting witnessed a discussion of the Commission's ongoing preparations and its preparations to hold the elections for the Kurdistan Region Parliament (sixth session), on October 20, and to complete all necessary procedures to establish this important democratic practice." The Prime Minister affirmed the government's support for the efforts of the Election Commission and securing all requirements for the electoral process, stressing the need for the Commission and its employees to exert maximum efforts with the countdown to holding the elections, and adopting neutrality and transparency and achieving elector al justice in a way that ensures the preservation of voters' votes in free and fair elections that achieve the aspirations of the citizens of the region.
