Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani holds talks today with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on developments in the region. An official statement said that Al-Sudani received Pezeshkian in an official ceremony at Baghdad International Airport. The statement explained that the ceremony included playing the national anthems of both countries and reviewing the honor guard representing the various branches of our armed forces. The statement indicated that the Prime Minister will hold extensive talks with the Iranian President, who is accompanied on the visit by an expanded delegation of Iranian government ministers, which will focus on developments in the region and the events in Gaza, in addition to discussing enhancing economic, security and trade cooperation files, and partnership in a number of development sectors. It explained that the two sides will sponsor the signing ceremony of a package of memoranda of understanding in the field of tax cooperation, and in the fields of agriculture, natural reso urces, communications, social protection, youth and sports, education, tourism, cultural and artistic exchange, cooperation in the field of antiquities, as well as in the field of vocational training, developing the skilled workforce, and cooperation between chambers of commerce.
