Baghdad, Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani affirmed, today, Tuesday, the government's support for the Iraqi Football Association and all sports activity. A statement from his media office stated that Al-Sudani received, today, Tuesday, the President of the Spanish Professional Football La-Liga, Javier Tebas and his accompanying delegation. According to the statement, the Prime Minister welcomed the visit of the delegation in Baghdad, reiterating the government's support for the Iraqi Football Association and general sporting activity. Al-Sudani stressed that the government's support for league levels is part of its commitment to what was stated in its program regarding youth and sports care, and providing more support to this sector. According to the statement, the Prime Minister was briefed on what had been implemented in the process of developing the professional league, within the contract concluded with the La-Liga in this field. Al-Sudani stated that sports and its activities are a fundamental focus in Iraq's image before the world, just as it is a pillar of economic activity that stimulates energies, creates opportunities, discovers talents and nurtures them, since the Iraqi people love sports and its activities. For his part, Tebas praised the government's continuous support for sports activities, and football in particular, stressing that Iraqi football is witnessing tangible development, and that efforts to sponsor and develop it are on the right track.
