Prime Minister, Mohammed Shiaa al-Sudani said today, Wednesday, that today we are in dire need of the speech of the clergy and its moral orientation. A statement from his media office stated that al-Sudani attended, today, Wednesday, the joint prayer held by the Chaldean Patriarchate in the Chaldean Church of St. Joseph in central Baghdad, in order to stop the aggression on Gaza and achieve stability in the region. At the beginning of the ceremony, the Patriarch of the Chaldeans in Iraq and the world, His Beatitude Cardinal Louis Sacco, and the rest of the attendees, recited prayers and supplications to God Almighty, for the safety of civilians, children and women and to deliver aid to them, and to stop the aggression. In a speech according to the statement, al-Sudani expressed his thanks to those who sponsored the establishment of the prayer in a house of God, with the participation of a blessed gathering from all religions, sects and Iraqi spectra, which reflects an image of solidarity, because our Lord is one, and our religions complete each other. He added that for ten months, killings, destruction and vandalism have continued to target innocent, defenseless Palestinians, Muslims and Christians, as well as places of worship, churches, mosques, hospitals and schools, in a small area of land that includes more than two million people, indicating that what is regrettable is that this systematic targeting and genocide occurs with complete silence from the international community in the face of the violations of the occupation government. The following are the most prominent points made in the Prime Minister's speech: ?? We are in dire need of unity, comprehensive discourse, supplication and prayer in this difficult time, in light of what we are witnessing of daily killing. ?? This region was the cradle of the heavenly religions that established the values and principles of tolerance, and elevated the value of the human being, whose blood is being shed daily in Gaza and the Palestinian territories. ?? The occupation government has violated everything and has disregarded all international values, agreements and laws. ?? What is happening is the legitimization of the law of the jungle and the targeting of people everywhere. ?? Today we are in dire need of the discourse of the clergy and the moral orientation it contains. ?? The statement of the supreme authority, His Eminence Sayyid al-Sistani, indicated the extent of the brutality in the actions of the usurping entity. ?? The government's position is firm towards these events that threaten the region with the spread of wars and conflicts, and it stems from all Iraqis, and was expressed by religious authorities, popular gatherings and governments. ?? We stand in solidarity with Palestine, which represents the essential issue of Iraq, and we reject the aggression that threatens the stability of the region and the world. ?? Since the first days of the aggression, we have warned against the consequences of expanding the conflict, which is what happened today due to the violations of the occupation government, and our efforts continue with friends to stop this aggression. ?? We will not allow any party to tamper with the security of the country, and we work for Iraq and the Iraqis with all their sects and components." Source: National Iraqi News Agency
