Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani confirmed: 'Iraq has become a difficult figure in the field of energy and oil wealth in the world.' Al-Sudani said in a speech at the launching ceremony of the fifth and sixth complementary licensing rounds for oil and gas fields: 'The government program has opened a wide door to the government's vision for oil and gas investment.' He added: "Today represents the end of great efforts made by the Ministry of Oil, and the beginning of a greater effort and more opportunities that will be reflected in every joint of the national economy," indicating: "Gas burning will stop within 3 to 5 years." He continued: 'We are heading to invest our oil productivity, and we have set a goal to transfer 40 percent of oil production to manufacturing industries within 10 years, and with these projects we will proceed with the integrated oil projects that were announced, and we will conduct a dialogue with several companies and establish a new situation for Iraq on the energy level.' We have begun real reforms in the tax and customs sectors.' The Prime Minister pointed out the presence of dozens of reputable international companies competing for oil investment, and that the environment is safe and stable for the work of international oil companies in Iraq.
