Algiers: The Algerian Parliament, known as the "First Chamber," has given its majority approval to the draft budget bill for 2025. This budget marks the largest allocation since Algeria gained independence, totaling 16,796.1 billion Algerian dinars, equivalent to approximately $127.6 billion, surpassing the $113 billion allocated for 2023. According to Qatar News Agency, the Algerian government based its budget on a reference oil price of $60 per barrel, with an estimated market price of $70 per barrel for 2025. The budget anticipates a growth rate of 4.5 percent for 2025, slightly higher than the 4.2 percent projected for 2024. The Algerian National Assembly, referred to as the Second Chamber, has commenced discussions on the draft budget for the upcoming year.
