The Expert in Economic Affairs, Raad Twaij, confirmed that there are multiple economic options to pay Iranian gas dues and solve the electric current crisis.
Twaij said in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA /: "The Iraqi economy is able to overcome the sanctions in dealing with its economic needs from Iran through the in-kind exchange in the field of crude oil and black oil that is sold to the Gulf countries, and at a price of $ 450 per ton can be sold to Iran, and the benefit will be greater by meeting its basic energy needs."
He added, "We can also suggest using the yellow metal (gold) to pay Iranian gas dues, which will be of great benefit to support the cash reserves of the Iranian currency."
He called on the government to establish electric stations whose fuel is locally made from black oil and more renewable energy, such as solar energy, due to the increasing demand for energy.
