Basra -The MP of Basra Governorate, Alaa Al-Haidari, accused the Ministry of Defense of negligence in the file of the arrest of Iraqi fishermen by Kuwait, indicating that the Ministry responded officially to him by stating that there were no violations by the Kuwaiti Coast Guard in Iraqi territorial waters and that the Kuwaiti side did not make any arrests of Iraqi fisherman.

He said in a statement, "The Ministry did not fulfill its duty regarding this important file related to the country's sovereignty over its territorial waters and maritime borders," indicating that he addressed the Ministry to find out its position, but he was surprised by its response, which was not proportional to the size of the problem.

Al-Haidari hinted at resorting to the public prosecution and opening an investigation with the Ministries of Defense and Foreign Affairs due to the clear negligence in the issue of Iraqi sovereignty, as well as the failure to take any measures to protect the lives of Iraqi citizens.
