The Iranian News Agency reported some details about the assassination of the head of the political bureau of the "Hamas" movement, Ismail Haniyeh, in a strike that targeted him in Tehran. According to the Agency, Haniyeh's assassination occurred at around 2:00 am, and he was staying in a special headquarters for veterans in Tehran, and that he was hit by "something flying in the air." It explained that Haniyeh and his accompanying delegation were staying in a guest house of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards north of the capital, Tehran. The Agency stated that the Secretary-General of the "Islamic Jihad" movement, Ziad Nakhaleh, and his accompanying delegation were on another floor of the targeted building. The Iranian Revolutionary Guards announced earlier this morning the killing of Haniyeh and a member of his protection team in Tehran after their place of residence was targeted, and the Iranian authorities opened an investigation into the circumstances of Haniyeh's assassination. For its part, Hamas con firmed that Haniyeh was assassinated in an Israeli raid on his residence in Tehran, the day after he participated in the swearing-in ceremony of President Masoud Pezeshkian.
