According to Qatar News Agency, this declaration emerged from a meeting at the Arab League Headquarters in Cairo, where Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, hosted the Special Envoy of the Chinese Government on the Middle East Issue, Zhai Jun. This meeting was part of Jun's tour of the Middle East region.
During the discussions, Zhai Jun articulated that his tour's primary objective was to de-escalate tensions in the Middle East. He affirmed China's commitment to enhancing efforts and mediation strategies to help calm the situation in the region.
