Awqaf Minister Lays Foundation for Three Endowment Projects

Doha: HE Minister of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs, Ghanem bin Shaheen Al Ghanim laid the foundation for three endowment projects in a celebration organized by the General Directorate of Endowments in Lusail City on Wednesday. HE Al Ghanim reviewed information about the projects of Jabal Thuaileb in Lusail, Al Maamoura, and Abu Hamour in a multi-dimensional interactive experience. The Jabal Thuaileb Endowment Project in Lusail City is the largest in the country with 881apartments in addition to social and recreational facilities including an integrated club, a center for teaching the Holy Quran, and a mosque. The project is considered a pioneering step to achieve the ministry's goals in supporting religious and social values in society. The second project is located in Al Maamoura area across 12,570 square meters, with the residential section occupying 70 percent. The third project is located in Abu Hamour area and extends over an area of 11,977 square meters, with a total area of 14,650 square me ters. The project is characterized by a modern design and advanced infrastructure. HE Undersecretary of the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, Dr. Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Ghanem Al-Thani, said that the three projects reflect the commitment of the General Directorate of Endowments to develop endowment projects and fulfill the conditions of the honorable donors, which contributes to enhancing societal and economic values. He added that the projects aim to enhance investment endowments, achieve sustainable development, contribute to improving the quality of life and creating new job opportunities, and support the local economy. His Excellency stressed that endowments are directed to fulfilling the conditions of the honorable donors to meet the needs of society and enhance economic stability, explaining that the role of endowments is not limited to the economic aspect only, but extends to play a vital role in enhancing social values and supporting various governmental and civil institutions.
